Classes are simple roles you take on, learning skills and a small stat growth for leveling up making it easier to shape your character, and learn skills. You have a Class Level for each individual class, leveling them up gains you access to the skills while leveling up your own level puts the stat growths in effect. The first number in the stats, the one that's not in parenthesis is it's stat growth. Meaning when you level up your base level while you have that certain class equipped, stat growth will be added to your stats. When you level up again, it is added again, and etc. Example: AGI stat growth of 1, you level up your base level then you will gain 1 point to AGI. The second number in stats, the ones in parenthesis is it's stat bonus. Meaning, whenever you have that class equipped you will get a bonus to that stat and it is an increase dynamicly related to the stat it's affecting in question, however if you change classes you will lose that bonus and will switch to another class' bonuses. Each class has it's own Class Level and Class Experience. Keep track. Class level is just for gaining skills, and nothing more.

You may change classes anytime out of a battle. However you may only switch your class once in a battle, in a total of one switch per session for battle switches.
Like said above, each class has it's own class level and upon switching classes, the bonuses switch as well as the skillset.

Some Class may be more 'compatible' with other jobs. Some are more compatible with some star signs, or some more compatible with other races.
If you have a Star Sign or Race compatibility, your stat growths (first number) increase by 80% as well as your stat bonuses (number in parenthesis) increasing by 3%. (If both are compatible then a total of 150% is increased to stat growth and 5% to stat bonuses).
To be clear, you CAN be classes you're not compatible with.

After leveling up the class to a certain level or fulfilling certain requirements, you can class up, unlocking a much more powerful class, or unlocking a new class for others to use.
Sometimes the path to the next class may not be linear, and instead, branch out. If it does, then you can't use the class of the other branch.
