History History: Kojima was born 'Kojima Sato Kudo Chie' (the 2 middle names were current surnames of the parents, used to help identify individuals of the clan) to the moderately known clan of the same name, in Hyougagakure (Village hidden within the Glacier), the second child in his immediate family. Upon birth, he was slated by his clan shaman, his stepfather, to be somewhat unimportant to his life, and he was marked appropriately by the man, living his life secondary to his older stepbrother, Shino, six years his senior. Due to his slated destiny by the clan shaman, nothing worthwhile occured for the boy in the first years of his life.
Shino, the 'crowned prodigy' of the clan, was supposedly set for greater things in life, having been able to acheive the Chie's Advanced Bloodline, the Aoiunkoume (Blue Motion Eyes), at the record age of eight. The older brother continued to accelerate in everything he managed, becoming a skilled Jounin at the age of twelve, and nearly mastering the Aoiunkoume around the same time (again blowing expectations out of the water), earning him the nickname "Speed King". While Kojima constantly enjoyed his brother's company and did his best to satisfy him, he also envied him and his powers, and tried to earn the favor of his family, but his hopes were constantly shot down by the clan's adopted classifications of fate and destiny. Regardless, he continued to work to earn some respect in his own right.
One fateful winter night, a blizzard had begun to set in, and Shino was out training his Aoiunkoume. At first, the clan thought nothing of it, but when the blizzard began to intensify in undescribable numbers, the clan slowly began to fear for the Speed King, who should have been home long before to report in. Around the same time, the family had noticed that Kojima was missing himself. All hope was lost for even recovering his body, if possible, when suddenly, they had sensed the appearance of a new figure; a five year old Kojima himself, semi-dragging the frostbitten body of his brother across the glacier and back into the care of the Chies. Kojima was eventually taken away from the presence of his brother, and he was to be interrogated by some of the higher ranked Shinobi for what had happened.
The first thing the Clan leader announced to the Chies was the worst sort; Shino Chie was indeed, dead. The cause was one that astounded the Chies to their very cores; Shino's eyes looked entirely drained of any life, but also as if the Aoiunkoume was damaged and drained into the schlera of the eyes, though that eventually disintegrated before further examination. This put questions into the trait and extreme casual use. Finally, the leader had declared something astounding; Kojima himself was bearing a barely developed form of the Aoiunkoume itself. The Shaman attempted to do anything in his power to weaken the child's name and cloud his future with cryptic speak, even having the boy locked away to get explanations, but it was fairly obvious of the Shaman's plight, that he had slated his predictions and blessings to his own son out of spite of his step son, indirectly for his wife leaving him and also because he couldn't conceive of his own blood not being able to destroy the destiny of a boy who had done nothing.
The same day the Shaman had his eyes removed and his body left to the dogs, and that Kojima was later released to his own family, he learned that on the day of his return, his mother had given birth to a girl, named Sayuki. Kojima, still young and a slight lack of understanding, was quite joyed. With all of the current events passed, he temporarily resigned himself from being a Hyouga Shinobi trainee to spend time with his family and learn a few of the traits of the Aoiunkoume for himself. As a final act, he was officially relieved of the Kudo surname to sever the ties his mother had somewhat broken to the man that tried to revoke him.
A few years later, Clan Chie had found itself abruptly and rapidly dwindling in kin through aiding in Shinobi Wars with Hyouga against neighboring villages Konoki, Shine, and Shroud, as well as during internal skirmishes amongst clans of other villages. It seemed that the Chies were being targeted against an unknown enemy that would track them down and bring down a force that would almost require the clansmen to use their Aoiunkoume, then keep them trapped in an extended battle until they were ultimately destroyed by their own bloodline.
Kojima, (under the alias 'Koji Sato'), age seven, was quickly instated to the academy, and quickly passed, earning the usual rank of Genin. To spare himself from the fate feared by his clan, use of his bloodline was restricted to emergency use, and as a result, were almost never called upon during his training. Bloodline aside, his sensei and teammates had quickly learned that Kojima had excelled in agility, often beating his teammates in races without the Chie advantages. He was a decent fighter, and he had managed to mesh well with his team, and they accomplished quite a bit together.
A 14 year old Kojima, under advisement from his sensei and family, had taken upon himself, and completed, the task of the Chuunin Exams, gaining the rank and a little more respect in the process. However, with the dying down of the wars, he was not as often called upon by Hyouga whilst they scaled back. During this pause in warfare, Kojima went on temporary leave to once again be amongst his people, and his family, also teaching his sister as much as he could to allow her to excel on her run through the academy when she got to those points.
For two years, a few conflicts arose, but not enough to measure up to full scale conflict. Kojima was blessed enough to be at the Academy graduation ceremonies to watch his sister and her friends reach the next level and become a Genin herself. With his own blessings (and a few warnings), he set off to the Kage's lair, where he began to work covert for Hyouga for several months (which he often 'abused' for the sake of trips to Konoha for R&R amongst the more friendly people of the village.)
Kojima is young, and usually serious. Knowledge is a higher priority for him, and tries to learn everything he can, whenever he can. When it comes to his own kin, or those of allied nations, he is a kind, caring person. At the same time, however, with the wrong provocation, he can become cold and collected, often ruthless, or just plain annoyed, depending on the severity of the situation. He is proud of the Chie blood that runs through his veins, and, though he is not the hoped master of the Aoiunkoume as he wishes he could be, his bloodline makes him a force to be reckoned with regardless.
